Journal52 catch-up!
I'm behind again with my Journal52 pages - it's a challenge on Facebook where each week there is a theme/idea to work with. Week 15 is Party Animals and Week 16 is Recycled Art.
The top page is my recycled paper bag - my DH nearly got it in the recycling bin but I saved it, used the main image and added some Tim Holtz blueprint stamps to carry on the woodland theme.
The second one is my Party Animal.....well Owl really. My most used Chocolate Baroque stamp which happened to be in proportion to the party/clown hat stamp from Paperartsy. With the addition of the Oak House Studio Union Jack stamp and some hand cut bunting, I decided to go for a party to celebrate St George's Day.....Enjoy!

Tim's Tag - April Flowers
Well I'm running out of time this month so I'm combining two challenges - A Vintage Journey where the theme is Spring Flowers and Tim's Tag for April 2014.
We were away at Easter visiting family and drove along the A17 in Lincolnshire with the sun shining. If you don't know the area then it's where the daffodil bulbs are grown - as far as you can see, fields and fields of daffodils in stripes of yellow, orange, cream narcissus, more yellow, more orange and a few tulips too. Such a glorious sight!!
So my design is based on Tim's Tag with a background of Snowcap Dabber, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks over homemade tissue tape. I've used Tim's Tattered Florals die with some free papers, inked the edges and made the flowers. For the foliage and trellis I've used Memory Box dies coloured with Evergreen Bough, Pine Needles and Vintage Photo Distress Inks, added some shiny and coloured bits etc and finished with seam binding and a word tag.
It's exceedingly yellow which is not normally me but I love bright flowers in the Spring. Thanks for visiting and for your comments - they are always very much appreciated!!
Knowledge is Key
Here's my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge where this time the words to use are KNOWLEDGE and/or HURT.
Lots of songs to choose from but in the end I've chosen this quote by Bertrand Russell. My mind is full of useless information but I do enjoy quizzes so that makes me happy!!
The background is a mix of Shaded Lilac and Dusty Concord Distress spritzed with water and I've used various stamps from PSX, Tim Holtz, Hero Arts etc to represent typical subjects you get quizzed about - art. geography, history, nature, words, numbers, music etc.
Thanks for popping by and for any comments you leave, I'm off to see what others have chosen to do!!

Shadow Stamping
Here's a simple card for the Less is More Challenge week 167 - it's ONE LAYER week with a theme based on SHADOW STAMPING.
I love this technique and decided to do a tree on a grassy knoll. I've used a Beech Tree (Oak House Studio) stamp inked with Potting Soil Archival and stamped twice which gives the tree a little more depth. I've used the same stamp on it's side for the grass - using Meadow Adirondack, a piece of torn paper for masking and stamping twice. It's just finished with the sentiment from Oak House Studio too.
Hope you like and thanks for looking. Please leave a comment - they are always very much appreciated!

Oak House Studio - Texture Challenge
Just a heads up that over on the Oak House Studio blog there's a new challenge where the theme is TEXTURE.
Here's a card for a man for a change using homemade washi tape banners. I've used 4 Oak House Studio stamps that can be used to create texture - Squares Border, Linen Background, Harlequin and Checkerboard with Pigment Ink Pads - Midnight, Forest Green, Fired Brick and Powder Blue. I've just added some buttons and the sentiment from the Men's Stamps set.
For this tag, I've used Totally Turquoise and Citrus Lime Ink in a Bottle for the background and stamped this with the large Walesby Flourish. The tile is triple embossed with copper and stamped with the small Walesby Flourish.
All stamps, ink pads, spray inks and embossing powders are from Oak House Studio and can be bought HERE.
Pop over to the Oak House Studio blog, join in the fun - there is a £40 prize to be won! Oak House studio are also looking for new Design Team members so if you are interested, all the details are HERE. Good luck!

Rain or Shine?
A quick post today with my Journal52 piece for week 14. The prompt is Rain or Shine - what sort of weather do you like.
I've done a rainy side with Brolly Man and a sunny side with Sun Rays and greenery. I've just hand drawn a rainbow using Sharpies. I don't like rain, but thunder and lightening and snow are all good as long as I'm inside looking out!! The plants need the rain but why can't it always rain at night and be lovely and sunny during the day!!
Guess we are never satisfied ....or stop talking about it!!

Paris in the Spring!
I've made a tag for A Vintage Journey challenge where this fortnight the theme is a Little Bit French.
My Scrapbook Magazine came the other day along with some free Bo Bunny papers - usually they get forgotten but this time I noticed some with French writing so that's the base of my tag. I've used Aged Mahogany to colour the edges, to stamp Tim Holtz's Eiffel Tower and added Wild Honey to die some seam binding. I've coloured some gloss card with Spiced Marmalade, stamped the words using my PSX Alphabet in Vermillion and stamped Mona Lisa with Potting Soil.
Hope it makes you smile!!

Changes
This fortnight the theme at The Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge is to use CHANGE and/or TRUTH. Well as I soon as I saw that I had to do Changes by David Bowie.....and I now know the correct words. I always thought it was strange changes but obviously not!!
Anyway the background is a swooshy mix of Salty Ocean, Broken China, Walnut Stain and Vintage Photo Distress Inks. I've used the rusty enamel technique on the clock, added a charm and typed the words on the computer. Simples....

Turquoise Daisies
Here's a card today for the Less is More Challenge week 166 where the colour theme is TURQUOISE.
I had a rummage through my stamps and decided to use the Double Daisy stamp from Oak House Studio - I've inked the solid stamp with Nick Bantok's Cerulean Blue and then stamped over this with the daisy outline in Archival Manganese Blue ....so two shades of turquoise. The sentiment is from my favourite Hero Arts set.
Struggling with craft at the moment as I've sprained my thumb/wrist - I had 3 attempts at this as I kept dropping the acrylic block on my card....doh! Hopefully it'll improve - I'll keep taking the tablets....
Thanks for popping by and if you leave a comment, thank you so much!
