Stampbord Projects

Over on the Oak House Studio Blog the theme for TAKE 5 this month is Stampbord.  It's a great product with a clay surface that takes ink beautifully, can be stamped and colour scraped away. It comes in many sizes - 2" squares, 1" squares, ATCs, dominos, circles and ovals etc.

Here are a few of my projects.  The first is a necklace coloured with the Triple Fruity Reds, stamped with the Solid Rose stamp, the colour scratched out of the middle and then clear embossed over the top.  I've attached it to a co-ordinating card to give as a gift.

The next one is domino shape with the Walesby Flourish stamped into copper embossing powder and used as an embellishment on a tag.

This one is an ATC sized piece made into a hanging, sprayed with ink, stamped with the Walesby Heart and again small dots scratched out to show the white again.

And finally a small 1" piece stamped and painted and made into a necklace.

There are 5 different designers with Stampbord projects on the Oak House Studio blog so why not pop over there for a browse.  I hope you'll be inspired to buy some stampbord and have a go.

A for Algebra

At last I've had chance to create my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary Challenge where the letter this time is A.....and no other twists thank goodness!   I had a read of my dictionary and decided to go for ALGEBRA but including Arithmetic and Algorithms as well as Amethyst.

The amethyst background is sprayed with Waterfall and Precious Purple Pure Colour Inks and stamped with Purple and Orchid Pigment inks - the numbers from Tim Holtz and Log Tables from Oak House Studio.  The Algebra (a maths joke I saw on Facebook) is written on some black chalk card with a white marker and I've finished with the dictionary definition and A Thicker as usual.

Hope you like and thanks for visiting.  Any comments you leave are very much appreciated.

Oak House Studio on TV

Just a heads up that Lynnda and Oak House Studio will be on HOCHANDA TV tomorrow at 11am and 3pm.

Stamps being shown include the very popular Clematis Tower with lots of background stamps and word sets along with a new Dog Rose Collection - 2 different sizes of corners plus a 5" border.  Here's a selection of my samples:

There is also a new set of Pure Colour Inks - the French Collection which includes French Wine, French Mint, French Lavender and Paris Pink.  Great bright flowery colours!

Friends & Flowers

I got some new stamps recently so thought I'd have a play.  It's a collection of Dog Rose stamps from Oak House Studio  and for this card I've used the smallest corner.

The Dog Rose Corner is silver embossed and then painted with French Lavender and Peter's Pear Pure Colour Inks.  The backgrounds are both sprayed French Lavender ink and the card is just finished with a  Friendly sentiment.   I've made a few other cards with this stamp set but these are for the Hochanda show next Tuesday 17th.

I'm entering this is the Craft Stamper's Take It, Make It Challenge for May where the theme is Anything Goes.    Thanks for visiting and for leaving comments - they are very much appreciated!

Jewelled Dragonfly

Here is my next postcard for the Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary Challenge where the letter is J and we have to use a Dragonfly.  Not an easy combination but having read all the Js I've chosen to do JIGSAW.

For the background I've sponged some Opalite Cypress Frost through a Leaf Swirl stencil and then cut out with a Sizzix Jigsaw Die.  For the Dragonfly I've used Tim  Holtz's Die and Embossing Folder.  The black layer I've painted Opalite Glacier Blue to add to the sheen and the wings I've cut and embossed from acetate and coloured with alcohol inks.  To add to the bling I've added some gems or Jewels!!   As usual it's just finished with the J Thicker and the torn dictionary definition.

Hope you like my dragonfly!  Thanks for visiting and leaving comments.  I'm off to see what others have come up with ......
