Proud England
At last I've found some time to play so here is my postcard for The Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge where the words are PROUD and/or VINTAGE.
Lots of quotes and lyrics to choose from but I decided to go for the first song that popped into my head - Proud by Heather Small. I know the words are what have you done today to make you feel proud, but I've just gone for feeling proud about England ......and no, I don't mean football, it's more the English heritage, English rose etc.
The background is a swooshy mix of Festive Berries and Barn Door Distress Inks overstamped in Fired Brick with the Castle Icon stamps from Hero Arts. The Union Jack and Rose stamps are both from Oak House Studio. The Union Jack is inked with Barn Door and the Rose is gold embossed and coloured with markers. It's just finished with Tim Holtz's Lion Rampant.
I've still got the last fortnight's postcard to catch up on but hopefully I'll get it done along with some Journal52 Challenge pages too. Thanks for popping by and leaving comments - they are always much appreciated.

A Rose for June
I've just come across the latest Papermill Challenge which is to create something that makes you think of JUNE - there's still time to enter if you are very quick so click HERE for all the details.
The climbing rose on the front of my house always flowers in early June so I thought I'd do a card with a rose. I've used stamps from Oak House Studio - the English Summer Text for the background, the Rose and the 'Take Time' sentiment. The rose is watercoloured and then it's all mounted on Ocean Blue card from Papermill Direct - has to be my favourite!!
Hope you like my card and thanks for looking. Papermill runs regular challenges so it's worth keeping an eye on their blog for a chance to win some of their wonderful card!!

Something Blue
I can't believe it is 3 weeks since I last blogged - I've done 27 exams, walked miles and when I get home have no inclination to do anything. However I only have 5 to go and then I'll have time to myself .......having said that both my daughters are coming home from university this weekend so chaos will ensue along with copious amounts of washing. I shouldn't complain....it'll be great to see them again!
Anyway just thought I'd let you know there is a new challenge over on the Oak House Studio blog - the theme is Something Blue and all details can be found HERE.
My contribution is a Bookmark and cover for Fathers Day tomorrow. My dad doesn't look at my blog so it's safe to post the pic. The backgrounds are a mix of Jubilee Blue and Totally Turquoise Ink in a Bottle and I dyed the seam binding with the leftover ink. The Beech Tree stamp is embossed with Copper detail powder and I've used the same stamp for the grass - I just inked the branch edges with a Midnight Ink Pad. All products are Oak House Studio.
Lynnda has generously offered a £40 gift voucher as a prize so why not give it a go!
