Sunflowers Again

Well it's Summer and all the Sunflowers are out and as I had a card to make I thought I'd use my Sunflower Stamp from Oak House Studio.

I've stamped with Stazon on acetate and then used Alcohol Inks on the reverse - brushed onto the flower section and then dabbed to create the frame.  I've used Sunshine Yellow, Pesto, Red Pepper and Gold Alcohol Inks.  To finish I've fastened it to some gloss card with eyelets and then added to a 6" square yellow card blank.

Hope you like my bright zingy card!

Embellies

Just a quick post to show you my recent purchase!

Couldn't resist these when I found them in the sale for £2.  The salesperson was very specific that I couldn't return them after I'd worn them and was a bit bemused when I said I had no intention of wearing them.

Taken to pieces, they'll make great embellies for cards - lovely dangly bits and nice circle too!!  Watch this space!

Art Dictionary

A couple of weeks ago I came across a group on Facebook called Altered Art Dictionary where the idea is to circle a word in a dictionary and then stamp on the page with a related image.

I thought it was a really good idea - do it in a random fashion and create an interesting book to browse through.  Maybe even create an index of stamps so you can see what you have!!  Anyway I found a dictionary for £1.49 and decided to join in.  Here are my first attempts:

TAXI

RECORD

No aardvaak stamp so it's Whitby ABBEY!

DOUBLE DECKER

I'm not sure the paper is the best but it's been fun so far.  I've decided that when I use a stamp for a card or challenge, then I'll use it in my dictionary too.  In about 10 years time when all the pages are done, I'm sure it'll be interesting to look back through!!

Great British Craft Festival

Ok this is a blatant advert so if you don't want to read it that's fine.

If you're in the Midlands and looking for a Craft Fair there is a new one this weekend - the Great British Craft Festival at Donington Park organised by Create and Craft.

There are lots of exhibitors including Lynnda (and Martin) from Oak House Studio  - I have it on good authority that not only will Lynnda have loads of stamps to sell but lots of new goodies too - Cream Stamping Card, Colour Chemistry Ink Pads and Spray Inks in lots of colours too.   Oh and to carry on the chemistry theme, Pipettes that I'm assured are much cheaper than Tim Holtz's!!

Just to finish here's a simple card done with spray inks using torn paper for the hill and overstamped with Oak House Studio's Oak Tree.

Whatever you're doing, have a great weekend!

Patterns

Trying not to turn the TV on this morning otherwise I'll get nothing done again!!  The Olympics is addictive!  Anyway I did manage to make a tag for Hels Sunday Stamper challenge week 217 where the theme is PATTERNS.

I went for a resist technique on gloss card.  The stamps are all from Tim Holtz's Bitty Grunge set - the small check is clear embossed and the others stamped with Jet Black Archival.  I swiped the Salty Ocean Distress Ink Pad over the card and let dry.  I rather liked the patterns so just added some True Blue Stickles, some fibres and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Hope you like and thanks for taking the time to look.  Any comments you leave are always much appreciated!

Sunflower Twinchie

Another twinchie for the Show us your Twinchie Challenge week 3 where the theme is to use BRIGHT COLOURS.

For this one I cut a piece of bright yellow card and then clear embossed a Sunflower stamp to one side.   I inked over this with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and then stamped SUN with my PSX Celtic Alphabet.  It's all edged with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.

What can be brighter than yellow, green and orange!

Blues and Greens

I thought I'd better make my card before I start watching the Olympics today!!   It's for the Less is More challenge week 79 where the theme is to use BLUES and GREENS.   I know the rhyme is that they should never be seen together but I like them and use them often.

I've blended some Mowed Lawn Distress Ink onto a piece of card, clear embossed over this with a Mountain Ash stamp and then blended over it all with Faded Jeans which really makes the image pop.  I've stamped the Mountain Ash in Faded Jeans randomly on the base card to partially frame the piece and then finished with a Hero Arts sentiment.

Thanks for looking!

Rose

Here's a twinchie for the Show us your Twinchie Challenge week 3 where the theme is to use BRIGHT COLOURS.

What could be more bright in the garden than the English Rose?    I've just stamped the Rose stamp in Jet Black Archival and then coloured with Pentel Brush Markers.

Thanks for looking!

Gold Medal

Here's a tag for Hels Sunday Stamper challenge week 216 where the theme is GOLD.

Bit late this week as I've been glued to the TV watching the Olympics however I thought I ought to make the effort this morning to do a little crafting!

Gold had to be something to do with the Olympics.  The background is a mix of Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles Distress Inks and I've overstamped this with a circle stamp for the Olympics Rings.   The gold medal is a round palette stamp double embossed in gold and it's just finished with some gold ribbon and Congratulations.

Thank you to anyone that finds 5 minutes to look and comment!
