Christmas Gift Tags
Here are some tags made for Hels Sunday Stamper Challenge week 234 where the theme is TAGS. The design was inspired by Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2012 December Challenge.
I decided to make some gift tags to go on Christmas pressies and have used Tim Holtz's Mini Blueprints stamps. The tags were cut using a Sizzix die and the backgrounds (and seam binding) inked with Stains - Broken China with Brushed Pewter, Peeled Paint with Tarnished Brass and Fired Brick with Tarnished Brass.
I've stamped tthe images twice - on the tag and on white card which I've coloured with markers. I've added various Stickles, stamped a Ribbon (from Oak House Studio) and used words from the Christmas Word Block (from Darkroom Door) which were embossed in Midnight Sparkle. I've also stuck a clean tag on the reverse so there is space to write.
Each week Hels's challenges are based on song titles and she tries to get you singing along, so I have Frosty the Snowman and Oh Tannenbaum stuck in my head. Any suggestions for the Toy Soldier??
Anyway hope you like my take on Tim's tags and thanks for looking. Your comments are always appreciated.

The colours of your tags are great they make me think of Christmas. The Tim Holtz stamps go very well on the tags, just the right size, I bought them to make some Christmas cards but they have not been used yet.
ReplyDelete"Soldier, Soldier will you marry me" comes to mind for a song, not sure if that is the title but I am humming now as I type!!
Great use for the mini blueprints, easy peasy too. Try "Dance of the Wooden Soldiers" from the Nutcracker Suite--sure to stay with you through Christmas. Happy holidays.
ReplyDeleteHi Elaine, I love these stamps, I don't have the mini ones but have got so much use out of the full size ones. The soldier is my favourite but all three tags are beautiful, love your colour choices. I am with Ceparie above, the only thing I can think of is the Nutcracker Suite although I don't think I know it well enough to hum it all day long! Hugs, Anne x
ReplyDeleteI love these tags, I'm going to get that set!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on all three tags!
ReplyDeleteGreat job here Elaine. You have seriously done these stamps justice (and made me want them even more!) Hugs, Buttons x
ReplyDeleteThese are just adorable. Would happily have without a gift attached!
ReplyDeleteGreat tags Elaine, love the colours. Like Anne I have the big ones but am now lusting after the mini's! What was that song bu Rolf Harris about two little boys? Would that fit the soldier tag? x
ReplyDeleteLOVE what you did with the Blueprints, arent they just gorgeous to work with? When I first got the stamps I was a bit... erm... "dunno what to do with these" but as soon as I started using them it was lurve! Thanks for joining in with the Sunday Stamper x
ReplyDeleteLove your tags Elaine. The colours are great and the Blueprints are perfect for them. I didn't think I needed those stamps or even liked them much buuuuuuttttt............... they've certainly grown on me. I'd better think again and I'm going to blame you, lol!
