Monet meets Picasso
Here's my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Quotes and Lyrics Challenge where the words to use are MIND and/or IGNORANCE. Again I've gone with the first quote that popped an image into my head........maybe it's weird but that's obviously how my mind works!!
For the background I've used a combination of Square Palette Stamps (Oak House Studio) with bright inks to create the Picasso style background and just used a black Sharpie to frame them. The Monet piece is from a Crafty Individuals book of images - I thought it looked like an impressionist painting. And to finish the words are from a quote by Robert Brault - I'm not sure my dreams are like this but at least they'd be colourful!!
Anyway thanks for looking and for your lovely comments. I'm off to see what everyone else has chosen to do!

ReplyDeleteLove that verse! You definitely got me with the title of this post and what a striking design it is indeed Elaine. Very clever. Jenny x
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool page. The different styles work really well together. Great quote as well. :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow Elaine, I love this beautiful design - it is so clever - I love the vibrancy of the colours, the coolness of the Monet and the wonderful quote! Anne xx
ReplyDeleteNice quote -I would say your background is very Mondrian and very clever.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colours and design. The quote is an awesome find :D
ReplyDeleteIt's an interesting quote and well illustrated. Such a good idea to stamp your Mondrian piece!
ReplyDeleteStunning and gorgeous. The background reminds me of Piet Mondrian, too, although your colors are more intense than his later work. I also like both Picasso and Monet, so this one really made me smile.
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrant background, it contrasts so well with the Monet piece, very clever.
ReplyDeleteYour postcard is so clever and unique! I really like the contrast between the background and the soft Monet--really gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. xx
ReplyDeleteA fantastic card, just a gorgeous background, very stylish.
ReplyDeleteI just love Monet. The background to me seems more a Mondriaan, but hey who cares, great translation of the quote.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter said it was too precise for Picasso - I just went for black outlined random colour. Having looked, it is more like Mondrian but never mind!!
ReplyDeleteA clever concept well carried out.
ReplyDeleteMondrian background I would have said and cleverly done. Love the quote too, works so well with the background and image.
ReplyDeleteLove the bright background, and great quote! xx
