February Rain
I apologise for the lack of posting but I think Mr Mojo went away at Christmas and hasn't come back yet!! I was planning on entering lots of challenges but none have inspired me.
I have made my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Twelve Month Challenge which is based on Sara Coleridge's poem plus we have to add a Cherub and a Heart.
I have to admit I'm not keen on cherubs and have no suitable stamps so have hand drawn and watercoloured this image which I thought went well with the rainy theme. When I say hand drawn I mean traced off clipart!! I've silver embossed the wings to liven him/her up. The background is a mix of Distress Inks - Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans with a hint of Wilted Violet - and then water flicked at it for the water drops. I used a heart stamp (three times) to create the umbrella, drew the handle and then finished with the lines from the poem.
Hopefully the weather will improve soon, the sun will come out and I'll feel more like creating. Thanks for visiting and commenting - it's always much appreciated!
Elaine xx

This is great Elaine, your hand drawn images are fab. I agree re not being keen on cherubs, I had to really search for one in my stash! I like your rainy background. Thanks for your kind visit over at mine xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely take on the topic - thank you for joining The Craft Barn Month Challenge. Here's to the weather improving - can you believe that in a minute we will bemoan the heat? haha! xx
ReplyDeleteA great page. I'm in awe of how you have managed to include Mickie's difficult challenge. xx
ReplyDeleteThe little cherub is lovely in the cloud and really does suit the theme! The rainy background is lovely too! I don't think Mr Mojo has gone very far, you did a great job with your postcard!
ReplyDeleteWe have actually had sun for two whole days - amazing!! Hugs, Anne xx
I love your cherub, very reminiscent of Raphael's angels. It was a tough one wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteLove the way you have used a heart stamp to create the umbrella. Roll on Spring!
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough one. Rain, cherubs and hearts didn't work well in my head to begin with. Your umbrella is really clever and your cherub looks thoughtful. Great postcard. I wish it was Spring too.
ReplyDeleteGreat postcard, I struggled with the cherub bit too, yours is very cute! xx
ReplyDeleteYou've dealt with the tough challenge perfectly and created a lovely postcard.
