Spring Inchies

I've had chance to make a few Inchies today.  I decided to join in the Inchie Swap on the UK Stampers Forum - I know I've made Inchies in the past but I'd forgotten how fiddly they can be!!

The swap is for a set of 6 so I drew a grid, blended on some Spring Green Ink and overstamped this with  the English Garden Text stamp in Emerald Green Archival. 

I've gone for a set of spring flowers so the daffs, snowdrop and lily are from a set of stamps free with a magazine and the crocus is an old Elusive Images one.  They're just gold and silver embossed, coloured with markers and then cut out....the hard bit!!

Infusions

Nothing new from me yet and this week is going to be fun as I'm in school all week invigilating mock exams which means no time to create.  It does however mean I will have some money for new stash!! I do like Brushos and quite fancy these Infusions from Paperartsy as something a little different.  I quite fancy Green Man and the Terracotta one too.  The Craft Barn are giving away a set as Blog Candy so pop over and have a look!

February Rain

I apologise for the lack of posting but I think Mr Mojo went away at Christmas and hasn't come back yet!!  I was planning on entering lots of challenges but none have inspired me. 

I have made my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Twelve Month Challenge which is based on Sara Coleridge's poem plus we have to add a Cherub and a Heart.

I have to admit I'm not keen on cherubs and have no suitable stamps so have hand drawn and watercoloured this image which I thought went well with the rainy theme.  When I say hand drawn I mean traced off clipart!!  I've silver embossed the wings to liven him/her up.   The background is a mix of Distress Inks - Stormy Sky and Faded Jeans with a hint of Wilted Violet - and then water flicked at it for the water drops.  I used a heart stamp (three times) to create the umbrella, drew the handle and then finished with the lines from the poem.

Hopefully the weather will improve soon, the sun will come out and I'll feel more like creating.  Thanks for visiting and commenting - it's always much appreciated!

Twelve Month Challenge

Over at The Craft Barn the new Twelve Month Challenge is based on Sara Coleridge's poem Twelve Months but with a twist.   This month is obviously the two lines for January but we have to add a Bird on a Wellington Boot.

As with any new challenge that lasts for a year the first one sets the style.  I've decided to carry on with postcard (A6) size pieces, add the theme and  printed poem.  Papermilldirect sell blank calendars so I thought I would wait till they start selling their 2018 ones and then add my art so for next year I should have a lovely personalised calendar to either keep or give as a gift.  That's the idea anyway!!

So for January I've drawn a pair of wellies and a couple of robins and created a snowy icy background for them.  Very apt as today in Sussex snow is forecast.   I've used a set of stamps that came free with Simply Cards magazine I think - a spotty one I've embossed with Holographic Super Sparkle powder to give that icy look and the bare winter trees stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.  The sky is a mix of Waterfall and Blue Jeans Pure Colour Inks from Oak House Studio.

P for a Pile of Presents

The last letter for The Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary Challenge is P so I've chosen to do PRESENTS as it's Christmas ......so a pile of pretty presents plus purple parcels!!

I've used the Christmas Parcel stamp set from Oak House Studio, embossed in silver and coloured with various markers.  As it's Christmas I did include the holly but I have to say the set is suitable for any event really.   I've stamped the holly on the purple card as a border, piled the presents on and added the P Thicker letter and the torn dictionary definitions. 

I'm really pleased I've managed to keep up with this Challenge and here is a photo of all my 26 postcards together....I just need to find the time to make a book for them.  Many thanks for visiting me all year and for all your wonderful comments - they make it all worthwhile.  Also thanks to The Craft Barn for a great challenge - I'm looking forward to seeing what next year's challenge is!!

M for Moon

I should be writing Christmas cards but thought I'd get my postcard done for the Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary Challenge - the penultimate letter is M.   I'm a bit short of bold blue postcards in my set so that decided the colour scheme .....and what goes better with blue than MOON.

Please feel free to sing along whilst reading this!!  

The background is a mix of Distress Inks with a masked moon and I've created the rays by lifting the colour off with some water.   I'm afraid my moon isn't exactly round but  just see it as a hazy corona!!  I've added some Musical Score stamping to keep you singing along plus the dictionary definition and M Thicker letter.

Quick and easy this time and only P to go - might have to make a head start on that as the next letter is due Christmas Day. Thanks for visiting and for all your lovely comments!

Y for YEAR

Here's my next postcard for The Craft Barn's Alpha Dictionary Challenge where the letter is Y.   Really struggled with this one as there are few words to choose from.... in the end I've done YEAR.

I couldn't find any suitable stamps so I decided to cut up my 2016 Calendar - it's an RSPB one and as with all calendars it has small photos on the back to show the different months.  I've chosen the birds I liked the best and 3 of them have yellow on them!!   I've just hand-drawn a frame, added the Y Thicker and the dictionary definition.

Not very inspiring this time I'm afraid but I guess I am the same as everyone else - short of time and ideas!!   Thanks for visiting and for your comments.
