Here's my tag for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2012. Despite the fact I don't have the bird and branch die, or the ornate frame embossing folder or the reflections stamps, I've improvised!!
The background is a mixture of Broken China, Bundled Sage, Pine Needles and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks. I've overstamped this with Oak House Studio's English Garden Text in Pine Needles, embossed it with a Craft Too Swirly Frame and then highlighted this with Vintage Photo. I've added some Picket Fence Distress Stain in the middle to lighten it and then embellished with a grungeboard flourish, a Shattered Stains butterfly (Tando Creative) and some seam binding all coloured with various Distress Stains. The sentiment finishes it off.
Well my tag looks nothing like Tim's but there are some similarities - an embossed frame, a flying object, something for it to sit on etc. Hope you like and thanks for taking the time to look!!

My favorite tags are the ones that deviate from his design. Not that I don't like the design he comes up with, I just love seeing what other people do with it as inspiration, instead of just a copy. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love your design and the feeling of depth. Blessings!

Congratulations on being a winning tag for April. Can't wait to see your May tag.
ReplyDeleteI have to say first off, Congrats on winning. I havne't been bold enough yet to try..:). Secondly, If I had to choose a favorite out of the 12 winners, it would be yours. I love the fact that you used a butterfly instead of a bird. I also liked the fact that you used what you had on hand instead of heading out to the shop to buy new. Thanks for entering and showing us your beautiful work.
